Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s “$mart Money Management 321” Board Game Student Trial Event

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has long been committed to enhancing the public’s financial literacy. With the advancement of technology, online shopping and electronic payments have become increasingly widespread. The HKMA has partnered with the board game social enterprise People On Board to jointly design and launch an original financial education board game titled "$mart Money Management 321". This game allows players aged 8 and older to learn about different payment methods, basic financial management knowledge, simple fintech concepts, and cybersecurity in a fun and engaging way through simulated scenarios, helping to cultivate their financial literacy from a young age and enabling them to become responsible consumers.

During the 2025–2026 school year, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority organized a series of "$mart Money Management 321" student trial sessions at various elementary schools, which were planned and hosted by People On Board and received an enthusiastic response.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority will continue to organize on-site experiential activities during the 2026–2027 school year to enable more students to gain hands-on experience in learning about financial literacy. Registration for these activities is now open. Please find the registration form enclosed for your reference. Space is limited, and registration will close once all slots are filled. Details are as follows:

Program Dates: Immediately through August 2027 (Monday through Friday)

Target Audience: Students in Primary 3 through 6

Group Size: 30 to 150 students

Location: Classrooms or auditoriums arranged by participating schools (if the number of participating students exceeds 80, the event must be held in the school auditorium)

Duration: 60 to 90 minutes (actual duration may be adjusted according to individual school requirements)

Content: Game introduction, trial play, and post-play interaction and sharing with students

Note: After the event, participating schools will receive four boxes of the "$mart Money Management 321" board game for use in classroom or extracurricular activities.
