The social enterprise People On Board has donated more than 2,000 boxes of board games. The games, along with the organization's newly compiled booklet "Board Game Tips for Parents and Children", will be distributed to eight social welfare organizations, including the Social Services Department of Yan Chai Hospital, Tung Wah Group of Hospital, the Group and Community Work Department of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Lady MacLehose Centre, and the New Life Mental Health Association ...... among others. The organizations will follow the previously compiled list of eligible low-income families, and social workers will deliver the games to families in need as soon as possible. 

People On Board has recently received requests for assistance from several social welfare organizations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Education Bureau has announced an extended suspension of classes for all schools in Hong Kong. With outdoor activities discouraged, low-income families are often confined to cramped living spaces, which can easily lead to friction. Some families may rely too heavily on electronic devices or overemphasize academic drills, neglecting quality playtime with their children, which ultimately affects their relationships. 

We believe board games are the best alternative to "digital pacifiers". They are also excellent tools for promoting parent-child communication. Therefore, over the past period, People On Board launched the "United Against the Pandemic: Family Board Game Support Program". We called on corporate groups and even individuals to support the initiative, so that People On Board's board games could be distributed to low-income families through our partner social welfare organizations. 

We expect 2,000 households to benefit, including low-income families such as those with members recovering from mental illness, single-parent families, and those living in subdivided flats. The program covers areas including the Outlying Islands, Sha Tiin, Tin Shui Wai, Yuen Long, Tuen Min, Sham Shui Po, Kwai Tsing, Mong Kok, Tai Kok Tsui, Ap Lei Chau, and others.

People On Board recently won an award at the Hong Kong Smart Design Awards, organized by the Hong Kong Exporters' Association, and was therefore invited to participate in this year's "Designer Inspiration Tour". The team visited the Nuremberg Toy Fair to exchange creative insights with international exhibitors.

This year's Board Games Workshop for teachers from the Planning, Administration, and Finance Division of the Bureau of Education has been successfully completed. We would like to thank all the teachers for attending, and we are especially grateful to the board game instructors for their assistance!

The board game "The Legend of Cheung Po Tsai 2" has won the Gold Award at the Asia Design Prize 2020!

The board game People On Board was selected as one of the 45 companies participating in the "Hong Kong Design Licensing Support Program" and, as a result, took part in the "Hong Kong International Licensing Show", which was held concurrently with the "Hong Kong Toy Fair".
